Mitsuwa Fun

Today our company ordered lunch in for us. After we ate, a few of us were itching to get out of the office and go on an adventure. So we drove over to Mitsuwa, the Japanese grocery store/video store/book store/bakery/food court extravaganza. I love how Japan makes everything so darn cute.

In-the-past-ivision

i used to love playing on my friend's intellivision. i finally got to own one in 2002, thanks to ebay. illustrator looking designs were so much better before illustrator.

this is the birthplace of my lifelong affair with vector artwork.
i started on a vector drawing program called CorelDraw! 3 in about 1996.

it wasn't until the year 2000 when my art department buddies forced me to get on a Mac & use illustrator... i think it was version 8 back then. thank you art dept buddies, i'm glad i made the switch.

wait... my first vector crush was in 1992... Versacad. I was ranked #11 in the county... i wanted to be an architect, until i found out how much easier art/design classes were.

Hairy Situations

Something I learned from Parker is to always take the chance to leave a cookie if you can get away with it...

Like writing your wife's name in hair on primetime TV. Romantic huh? I know.

O-hell... or I mean Hell-o

So we all met working at Paul Frank Industries. We had the job creating content & vision for the brand. If PFI was a high school I definitely felt like the audio/visual nerd. I don't mean it in a way primetime TV would define it 'cause PFI had THE BESTEST MOST AWESOME PEOPLE EVER! - right down to the guy who cleaned the offices- I miss you Ray. I guess I mean it in a way that I was a REAL weirdo that had weird tastes & thoughts, nobody was ever unkind to me. So naturally when other weirdo's started working at PFI (sorry friends, but we are a little weird), we seemed to stick together really well & formed a pretty solid lunching crew.

Here's a picture of us on "International Lunch Day" - it's on a Friday

The Pig & Hamburger are not included as authors of this blog. They went on to do great, great things for humanity. The Pig for example went on to extinguish his career by acting a fool.

I am the guy with the medals... I earned them for having money in my pocket at a flea market - true story! I have an online portfolio that I use to convince people I'm worth the money, or to just make mom proud.

I am lucky to have these talented weirdos as my friends - they asked me to contribute to this blog & I think i'm gonna make them sorry they ever asked for such a thing.

Thank You.
